This film Miral was screened during Miami Basel at the Colony Theatre and there was a reception, dinner and auction of recent paintings by Julian after to benefit Sean Penn's Haiti charity J/P Haitian Relief Organization.

The author of the book on which the movie was based, Rula Jebreal,was also on hand to support the artist and the relief effort.
