Summer still hasn't set in, but we were in this house that belongs to an 80 year old artist this weekend. The whole house was an installation!

Hotel Cipriani

Franco, at the Hotel Cipriani, makes my day whenever I see him! He is one of the biggest jetsetters I know. I see him at the Armory Show in NYC, Art Basel in Miami and then here in Venice at the bar of the Hotel Cipriani.

We love the salt water pool and the fact that we're the youngest, hottest girls there.
I asked the boat driver to let me drive, as he allowed the kids to do it, and he let me one night. Imagine driving across the Grand Canal from the Giudecca to San Marco!

Day and Night at the Biennale di Venezia

Needless to say there were challenges in moving from day to night. With back to back events flowing one into the other, sometimes one had to just wing it from the morning till the next morning and hope that your shoes and your feet held out!

Fiona Tan Disorient at the Dutch Pavilion

This was something well worth waiting in line for; Fiona Tan. It's safe to say that everything in this pavilion was not just good; but very good. You can click on the link to read a little more about this artist.

Natalie Djuberg at the Venice Biennale

Of course Ms. Djurberg's installation and videos were to die for! Mesmerizingly perverse, deliciously colorful, and tantalizingly provocative, they gave the viewer lots to ponder and take away.

Chrisitian Sinibaldi's Pictures of the Biennale on the Guardian's web gallery

I met this photographer, Christian Sinibaldi, in Claude Leveque's installation for the French Pavilion. I liked him and his work is really amazing; how he is able to convey the unusual in the things we see as usual. Hope to meet him some time again in London.

Olga Sviblova's Russian Pavilion

Paul Laster's written a great article. If you click on the title you'll get to it. By far, the Russian Pavilion was one of the best things in the Giardini section of Birnbaum's Making Worlds.
