Someone said we ought to listen more to our artists than our politicians but I can't remember who. Obviously I feel the same. In Trinidad it is election time but I had much more enlightenment from going to the Studio Film Club, to an exhibition of Eddie Bowen's work, put on by the artist himself, from a talk about the situation in Haiti at Above Group by journalist Michael Deibert, and from a concert by Jointpop, recently signed to a German label.
