Just like society is being stratified and we are losing an economic middle class so too the art world is losing it's middle tier artists. Lamenting the skyrocketing prices of young artists is a waste since the only two ways the industry is going is stratospherically high prices for market driven investment category artists and dirt cheap, democratic, mass market (HandM style) low prices. Nothing will exist in between anymore.
